NC NBHA District 09-Debbie Harris
Hey Guys
Hope Everyone is enjoying this weather!! I wanted to send out a few notes and get everyone back on track as we start the new season.
First if you missed the banquet you missed a really good night. We had more food than we could eat and lots of fellowship. If you had not arranged for someone to pick up your awards please see me to get it at the next show. We did not have a lot of money this year but still gave out some really nice awards.
We are going to try something new this year called Bonus awards. This will reward the members that work hard to raise money doing fundraisers. We are looking for ways to raise money that does not hit us in the pocket book. I know everyone is getting tired of getting dollared to death. We need to find sources outside the district.
You have the option to Opt In or Opt Out of the program. If you Opt Out and you finish in the Top 5 at the end of the year you will receive either a halter or hay bag. If you Opt In you will receive the hay bag or halter PLUS Bonus awards. These awards will depend on amount of money raised and how many participate in the program. Either option will not affect Points or World Qualifiers standings.
You MUST Opt In or Out by MAY 1st. If I do not have a form by then you will be considered to have Opted Out and will not be eligible for Bonus awards.
So far we have 4 fundraisers working. Below are the people in charge and what is needed

We are a not for profit org and donations are a business expense for any business that gives. I have receipts if you need them.
We have a few ideas and no one to be in charge of them so anyone interested please see me.
We had a great input at the banquet and I am excited to see what this district can do when it works together as a team. Together we can achieve GREAT things.
Alice Robinson and Lisa Mohlr are in Charge of the Peewes this year. THANKS to Tammy and Vickie for all their HARD Work last year. These kids cleaned up at the banquet goes to show what a little hard work gets. Casey has made a STUNNING quilt for the Peewees to raffle this year. Make sure you get a ticket
Our bank account got a boost Thanks to Beth Sloan and Marlene Lyerly for donated money from food sales. Also Chassity and Hannah also helped with donated funds.
I need a few people to volunteer as district reps, if you are interested please e-mail or call me.
