Happy New Year NC09!
Many of you probably have already heard, but this message is official notification.
With your help, I will be the NC09 Director!
Debbie Harris has done a great job the last few years; however she asked if I would take over as NC09 Director – when she decided to start her own business this year and quickly found out was going to move her father from New York to her home in North Carolina for health reasons. Debbie hopes to make as many shows as possible – but acknowledged that her family and work schedules must take priority. She is working hard on getting all of the 2010 Awards ready!
· That being said… I have just returned from an exciting NC Directors Meeting, hosted by Patty Nunnery – our new NC State Director!
· Our 1st Show is currently scheduled for March 24th @ Triple M Arena. We plan on having NC06 join us and perhaps NC08 too!
· The NC09 Schedule is coming together quickly and once the shows are confirmed – it will be shared. All districts have seen a dramatic drop in membership due to the poor economy. Our goal will be to have as many shows that are near our homes – yet co-sanctioned when possible to make them worth going to (nobody wants to go to a show with only 20 people in attendance)! My goal is to get all 15 shows scheduled NOW – so everyone can plan their year. If we have enough shows sanctioned – we won’t have to run around with make-up shows. I do not plan on any Double Shows.
· State Finals will be in Asheville (Arden) in the INSIDE Arena! They are scheduled for July 15th – 17th. There are already things in the works to make this a great show!
o Seniors… would you like to run on Friday Afternoon or Sunday Afternoon? Your opinions are needed!
o This is OUR State Show – and there are volunteer opportunities (with various benefits based on what you volunteer for) … let me know if you are interested in helping with Office / Grounds / Arena etc….
· Youth World – if you are thinking of going to the Youth World in Perry, GA this summer… let me know, as there is lots of planning and information sharing that I don’t want you to miss out on!
· There are a couple of “new rules” in place this year. They are not NC09 Rules… these are rules you will see both Nationwide and Statewide.
o NC will NOT “roll over” any times from class to class. You will earn a time by running a time.
o District Points will be awarded based on the fastest time in our District. Monies will still be paid by the fastest time in the class – regardless of membership designation, however starting this year – the fastest NC09 Time in a class will be where we start our points from in that class. (See me for further explanation if needed). 00 Members will earn points based on the fastest time in the class, regardless of membership designation.
